South Australian ceramic artist and designer

Bio

Living and working on Kaurna Country, Adelaide, I make functional ceramic artworks influenced by global craft traditions and historical artefacts, as well as durable wheel-thrown and hand-built tableware. My passion for making is fuelled by the rich history of ceramic production and its enduring role throughout human history.

Clay’s malleability allows me to express my ideas in an intuitive way, and I am fascinated by its transformation into a permanent, durable material when fired. The endless possibilities of form, surface, and function drive me in my quest to build my technical skills and knowledge to produce the objects I envision.

In early 2022 I graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Arts) with Flinders University and Adelaide College of the Arts. I studied ceramics as my chosen discipline for the final two years of my degree. I was fortunate to be invited to exhibit my graduating artwork titled Relics in the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition 2022. Relics received the Square Holes Award and the Lang/Mckee Award through Helpmann Graduate Awards.

I work in a shared studio space at JamFactory as part of the JamFactory Associate Program for emerging artists and designers. I work for JamFactory’s ceramics department producing tableware for their commercial range, and I teach wheel-throwing and hand-building workshops for the short course program.
